August 15, 2003 - A Dark Day

Up here in Saratoga Springs, when people talk about it being 'dark' they're usually referring to the horse track, which is closed on Tuesdays. Yesterday, however, the whole damned state (and much of the northeast) lost power around 4:15. No power at my apartment, so I drove down to an open mic in Albany, where the power was on and the music was plentiful.

When I returned home around midnight, there was still no power, and my apartment complex was an eerie place - the Moon was the sole light, and the area seemed deserted.
