Freshman year, when I lived in the dorms, Thursday afternoons were extremely boring times - most of the floor were at classes, but my schedule left Thursdays wide open. The sun would begin to set. The kids across the hall would shut their door, turn on their black light and smoke up. I would sit around and just see how long it would take for something interesting to happen. One Thursday, I decided to see how realistically I could reproduce the door (and surroundings) of my dorm room in Neopaint.
I started by figured out basic proportions and then began adding detail. Since, as I've mentioned elsewhere, Neopaint was an older program whose tools didn't naturally anti-alias, I had to do so manually, doing it all pixel by pixel (even the Budweiser sign). I spent a good solid day on it, but the final results are pretty nice.
